The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,469.00) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jozef Israëls achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch dreams (Dolce Far Niente) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 225,592.85).

Die Arbeit Mother's treasure von Jozef Israëls wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion British & European Art: European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.469,00) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jozef Israëls erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch dreams (Dolce Far Niente) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 225.592,85).
