This artwork by Jozef Israëls achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2019. In the European Art Part II auction, the work Heer Helweg, The Jeweler of Amsterdam sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,376.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jozef Israëls have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch dreams (Dolce Far Niente) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 225,592.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jozef Israëls erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Art Part II wurde die Arbeit Heer Helweg, The Jeweler of Amsterdam für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.376,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jozef Israëls auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch dreams (Dolce Far Niente) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 225.592,85).
