Auction result well in line with expectations
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries, which included the work Study of a girl in a turban with pompom and frilled collar by Joseph Wright of Derby. The price achieved of USD 81,900.00 (€ 73,046.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Wright of Derby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Academy By Lamplight in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 7,263,700.00 (€ 8,174,230.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study of a girl in a turban with pompom and frilled collar von Joseph Wright of Derby zur Versteigerung kam.
