Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joseph Wright of Derby could be acquired at Christies in New York in June last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work A Moonlit Landscape changed hands for USD 190,000.00 (€ 181,488.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Wright of Derby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Academy By Lamplight in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 7,263,700.00 (€ 8,174,230.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Wright of Derby konnte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Wright of Derby erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Academy By Lamplight im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.263.700,00 (€ 8.174.230,35).
