In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work An Italian River Landscape With A Bridge And Tower At Sunset, With Figures In The Foreground sold for GBP 300,000.00 (€ 354,564.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Wright of Derby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Academy By Lamplight in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 7,263,700.00 (€ 8,174,230.35).
