Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, which included the work VIEW OF TIVOLI by Claude Joseph Vernet. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 617,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Claude Joseph Vernet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 5,346,500.00 (€ 6,109,308.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit VIEW OF TIVOLI von Claude Joseph Vernet zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 617.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Claude Joseph Vernet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.346.500,00 (€ 6.109.308,12).
