Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Shipwreck by Claude Joseph Vernet was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 205,862.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Joseph Vernet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 5,346,500.00 (€ 6,109,308.12).

Die Arbeit The Shipwreck von Claude Joseph Vernet kam im Juli 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 205.862,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Joseph Vernet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.346.500,00 (€ 6.109.308,12).
