Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Monkey by Joseph Mendes da Costa was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2011. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Mendes da Costa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman with child in December 2001 with an auction result of EUR 52,875.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Monkey von Joseph Mendes da Costa kam im September 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 4.000,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Mendes da Costa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman with child im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 52.875,00.
