Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries', which included the work Marretje by Joseph Mendes da Costa. The price achieved of EUR 3,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Mendes da Costa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman with child in December 2001 with an auction result of EUR 52,875.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2009 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries' durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marretje von Joseph Mendes da Costa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Mendes da Costa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman with child im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 52.875,00.
