Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 16,562.50 (€ 14,633.77). Admittedly, works by Joseph Marioni have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Yellow Painting". in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 77,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Yellow Painting von Joseph Marioni wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 16.562,50 (€ 14.633,77) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Marioni auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Yellow Painting". im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 77.400,00.
