Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work East Cliff Lodge, Ramsgate, the seat of Lord Keith by Joseph Mallord William Turner. The price achieved of GBP 44,800.00 (€ 52,268.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Mallord William Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, From Mount Aventine in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 30,322,500.00 (€ 39,035,113.21).
