In July this year Christies in Paris held the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve, which included the work Cassiobury, Hertfordshire, seen from the North-West by Joseph Mallord William Turner. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 302,400.00 (€ 352,809.15), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Mallord William Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, From Mount Aventine in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 30,322,500.00 (€ 39,035,113.21).

Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cassiobury, Hertfordshire, seen from the North-West von Joseph Mallord William Turner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 352.809,15) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Mallord William Turner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rome, From Mount Aventine im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.322.500,00 (€ 39.035.113,21).
