In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Important British Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of Jasper Van Der Hagen (Act. 1744-D. 1769) by Joseph Highmore. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,700.00 (€ 19,183.54), 71% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Highmore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three girls, three-quarter-length, in blue, pink and oyster satin dresses, in a landscape, which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 44,650.00 (€ 71,127.05).

Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Important British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Jasper Van Der Hagen (Act. 1744-D. 1769) von Joseph Highmore zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.700,00 (€ 19.183,54) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Highmore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three girls, three-quarter-length, in blue, pink and oyster satin dresses, in a landscape beobachtet, die im Dezember 2000 für GBP 44.650,00 (€ 71.127,05) versteigert wurde.
