Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a yellow dress with white frills, holding a flower, in a landscape by Joseph Highmore was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 7,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Highmore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Three girls, three-quarter-length, in blue, pink and oyster satin dresses, in a landscape in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 71,127.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a yellow dress with white frills, holding a flower, in a landscape von Joseph Highmore kam im Oktober 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion.
