In May last year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Sheep in a meadow by Joseph Crawhall. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,475.00 (€ 13,499.25), 64% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Crawhall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Mallard Rising in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 118,348.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep in a meadow von Joseph Crawhall zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.475,00 (€ 13.499,25) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Crawhall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Mallard Rising im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 118.348,68).
