Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Missing Girl by Joseph Cornell was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,455.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Cornell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Medici Slot Machine in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,781,000.00 (€ 5,704,545.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Missing Girl von Joseph Cornell wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.455,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Cornell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Medici Slot Machine im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.781.000,00 (€ 5.704.545,45).
