Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joseph Cornell could be acquired at Christies in London in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Untitled (Medici Boy) changed hands for USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,428.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Cornell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Medici Slot Machine in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,781,000.00 (€ 5,704,545.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Cornell konnte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Medici Boy) für USD 22.680,00 (€ 21.428,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Cornell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Medici Slot Machine im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.781.000,00 (€ 5.704.545,45).
