Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Die Weisse Frau (La Dame Blanche) by Joseph Cornell was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 28,980.00 (€ 28,073.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Cornell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Medici Slot Machine in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,781,000.00 (€ 5,704,545.45).
