Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Les Petits Cuisiniers by Joseph Bail was sold in the The European Art Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 16,380.00 (€ 13,432.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Bail - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sisters of Charity Saying Grace Before a Meal at the Hospice in Beaune, France, (Le Benedicté), which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 46,600.00 (€ 32,209.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Les Petits Cuisiniers von Joseph Bail wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion The European Art Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 13.432,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Bail mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sisters of Charity Saying Grace Before a Meal at the Hospice in Beaune, France, (Le Benedicté) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 46.600,00 (€ 32.209,01) versteigert wurde.
