Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work French polishing Coppers by Joseph Bail for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,630.17). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Joseph Bail have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sisters of Charity Saying Grace Before a Meal at the Hospice in Beaune, France, (Le Benedicté) in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 46,600.00 (€ 32,209.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit French polishing Coppers von Joseph Bail für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.630,17) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Bail auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sisters of Charity Saying Grace Before a Meal at the Hospice in Beaune, France, (Le Benedicté) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 32.209,01).
