Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French La Ménagère by Joseph Bail was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,068.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Bail - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sisters of Charity Saying Grace Before a Meal at the Hospice in Beaune, France, (Le Benedicté), which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 46,600.00 (€ 32,209.01).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.068,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden.
