Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Garden Party by Joseph Alfred Terry was sold in the AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 4,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 4,465.00 (€ 2,676.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Alfred Terry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden Party in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 29,518.46).
