Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Sothebys in Cologne held the auction Modern & Contemporary Auction, which included the work Bildnis einer Frau (Portrait of a Woman) by Josef Scharl. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 40,320.00 15% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef Scharl - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Der Abend, which sold at auction in June 2018 for EUR 150,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Köln die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bildnis einer Frau (Portrait of a Woman) von Josef Scharl zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 40.320,00 und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Josef Scharl mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Der Abend beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für EUR 150.000,00 versteigert wurde.
