Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A wooded river landscape at sunset by José Weiss was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PAINTINGS auction at Christies in London in January 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 645.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Weiss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work September On The Arun in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,034.28).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 645,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
