Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included this untitled work by Jose Legaspi. It changed hands for a price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,960.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jose Legaspi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2014 for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 25,738.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jose Legaspi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 9.960,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jose Legaspi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 25.738,23) versteigert wurde.
