This artwork by José de Rivera achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in February 2021. In the Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art auction, the work Construction No. 44 sold for USD 9,562.50 (€ 7,907.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by José de Rivera have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brussels Construction in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 68,500.00 (€ 51,372.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von José de Rivera erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Construction No. 44 für USD 9.562,50 (€ 7.907,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José de Rivera auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brussels Construction im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.500,00 (€ 51.372,43).
