Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Contruction #56 by José de Rivera was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at USD 12,000.00 (€ 8,752.10). Admittedly, works by José de Rivera have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brussels Construction in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 68,500.00 (€ 51,372.43).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Contruction #56 von José de Rivera im Juli 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 2.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 12.000,00 (€ 8.752,10) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José de Rivera auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brussels Construction im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.500,00 (€ 51.372,43).
