In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art | New York, which included the work La modelo by José Clemente Orozco. The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,880.00 (€ 40,773.23), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Clemente Orozco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The City in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 923,680.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit La modelo von José Clemente Orozco zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 40.773,23) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Clemente Orozco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The City im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.142.500,00 (€ 923.680,17).
