Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Francis Bacon by Jorge S. Lewinski was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2019. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,450.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jorge S. Lewinski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Francis Bacon, circa 1960s, which sold at auction in February 2006 for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,235.83).

Die Arbeit Francis Bacon von Jorge S. Lewinski kam im März 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.450,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jorge S. Lewinski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Francis Bacon, circa 1960s beobachtet, die im Februar 2006 für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.235,83) versteigert wurde.
