Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dame Barbara Hepworth, 1968 by Jorge S. Lewinski was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,411.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jorge S. Lewinski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Francis Bacon, circa 1960s, which sold at auction in February 2006 for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,235.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dame Barbara Hepworth, 1968 von Jorge S. Lewinski kam im März 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.411,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jorge S. Lewinski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Francis Bacon, circa 1960s beobachtet, die im Februar 2006 für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.235,83) versteigert wurde.
