This artwork by Jordi Ribes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work A Family in the Cave sold for HKD 635,000.00 (€ 74,352.01) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jordi Ribes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 1,386,000.00 (€ 167,577.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jordi Ribes erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit A Family in the Cave für HKD 635.000,00 (€ 74.352,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jordi Ribes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 1.386.000,00 (€ 167.577,49) versteigert wurde.
