Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Rew-Shay Hood Project XIX by Jonathan Monk. The price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,364.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jonathan Monk achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deflated Sculpture no. I in May last year with an auction result of USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rew-Shay Hood Project XIX von Jonathan Monk zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.364,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jonathan Monk erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deflated Sculpture no. I im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 88.062,62).
