A top price for Jonathan Monk
In May last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Deflated Sculpture no. I by Jonathan Monk. The »bidding war« ended at USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62), 35% above the upper estimate. With this result, Deflated Sculpture no. I is even the most expensive work of art by Jonathan Monk that we have observed at auctions so far.
