Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jonathan Chapline achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in June 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips auction, the work Model Home sold for HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 191,616.14) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jonathan Chapline; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 224,383.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jonathan Chapline erzielte im Juni 2021 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips wurde die Arbeit Model Home für HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 191.616,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jonathan Chapline; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 224.383,56).
