The work Study For "I'M Half Sick Of Shadows" Said The Lady Of Shallot by John William Waterhouse was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,133.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John William Waterhouse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Cecilia 'In a clear walled city on the sea, Near gilded organ pipes... ...slept St Cecily' in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,603,750.00 (€ 10,467,756.68).
