In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Maison de Campagne, Algiers by John William North. The result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,376.43) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John William North achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grass Of The Field in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,071.12).

Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maison de Campagne, Algiers von John William North zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.376,43) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John William North erzielen.
