Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Imprisonment by John William North for GBP 5,975.00 (€ 8,892.59). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John William North - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Grass Of The Field, which sold at auction in December 2013 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,071.12).

Im Juni 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Imprisonment von John William North für GBP 5.975,00 (€ 8.892,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John William North mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Grass Of The Field beobachtet, die im Dezember 2013 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 30.071,12) versteigert wurde.
