Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Summer in a Western Wood by John William North was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,497.00 (€ 8,181.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John William North - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Grass Of The Field, which sold at auction in December 2013 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,071.12).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.497,00 (€ 8.181,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
