Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape by John William Ashton was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2003. The price achieved of AUD 4,112.50 (€ 2,429.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,500.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by John William Ashton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Neutral Bay, Sydney Harbour in November 2000 with an auction result of AUD 32,900.00 (€ 19,912.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape von John William Ashton kam im August 2003 bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.112,50 (€ 2.429,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.500,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John William Ashton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Neutral Bay, Sydney Harbour im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 32.900,00 (€ 19.912,56).
