Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction THE ESTATE OF THE LATE FREDERICK D. BLADIN, which included the work Afternoon Light, Paris by John William Ashton. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 5,287.50 (€ 2,696.28). Admittedly, works by John William Ashton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Neutral Bay, Sydney Harbour in November 2000 with an auction result of AUD 32,900.00 (€ 19,912.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion THE ESTATE OF THE LATE FREDERICK D. BLADIN durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afternoon Light, Paris von John William Ashton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 5.287,50 (€ 2.696,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John William Ashton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Neutral Bay, Sydney Harbour im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 32.900,00 (€ 19.912,56).
