Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Copley Square, Rain by John Whorf. The price achieved of USD 1,062.50 (€ 836.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Whorf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Dunes in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 51,000.00 (€ 38,133.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Copley Square, Rain von John Whorf zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.062,50 (€ 836,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Whorf erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Dunes im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 51.000,00 (€ 38.133,69).
