This artwork by John Whorf achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Two Centuries: American Art auction, the work Brooklyn Navy Yard sold for USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,802.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Whorf - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On The Dunes, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 51,000.00 (€ 38,133.69).

In der Auktion Two Centuries: American Art wurde die Arbeit Brooklyn Navy Yard für USD 13.860,00 (€ 11.802,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00.
