Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,200.00 (€ 21,922.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John White Alexander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Ray Of Sunlight in October last year with an auction result of USD 403,200.00 (€ 405,878.80).

Die Arbeit Silhouette of a Young Girl von John White Alexander kam im November 2007 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 32.200,00 (€ 21.922,66) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John White Alexander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Ray Of Sunlight im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 403.200,00 (€ 405.878,80).
