In October last year Christies in New York held the auction The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 2 |Old Master, 19th and 20th Century Paintings, Day Sale, which included the work Le Piano by John White Alexander. The price achieved of USD 85,680.00 (€ 86,249.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by John White Alexander have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Ray Of Sunlight in October last year with an auction result of USD 403,200.00 (€ 405,878.80).

Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 2 |Old Master, 19th and 20th Century Paintings, Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Piano von John White Alexander zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 85.680,00 (€ 86.249,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John White Alexander auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Ray Of Sunlight im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 403.200,00 (€ 405.878,80).
