This artwork by John Wells achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2020. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work without title sold for GBP 11,340.00 (€ 12,659.27) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Wells have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Structure In Oval in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Wells erzielte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 11.340,00 (€ 12.659,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Wells auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Structure In Oval im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39).
