Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Painting, 1976 by John Wells. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,524.23), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wells achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Structure In Oval in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Painting, 1976 von John Wells zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.524,23) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wells erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Structure In Oval im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39).
