Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Disc And Circle by John Wells. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,380.00 (€ 18,285.61). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Wells - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Structure In Oval, which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Disc And Circle von John Wells zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.380,00 (€ 18.285,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Wells mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Structure In Oval beobachtet, die im November 2012 für GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39) versteigert wurde.
