Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The outskirts of Norwich, with Cow Tower in the distance by John Thirtle was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,271.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Thirtle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of John Sell Cotman, Mrs Edmund Miles And Ann Miles In The Miles Family Farmhouse, Felbrigg, Norfolk in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,365.28).

Die Arbeit The outskirts of Norwich, with Cow Tower in the distance von John Thirtle kam im Juni 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.271,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
