This artwork by John Thirtle achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2004. In the British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from auction, the work Farmyard with timber drag sold for GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,956.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Admittedly, works by John Thirtle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of John Sell Cotman, Mrs Edmund Miles And Ann Miles In The Miles Family Farmhouse, Felbrigg, Norfolk in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,365.28).

In der Auktion British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from wurde die Arbeit Farmyard with timber drag für GBP 1.314,50 (€ 1.956,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Thirtle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of John Sell Cotman, Mrs Edmund Miles And Ann Miles In The Miles Family Farmhouse, Felbrigg, Norfolk im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.365,28).
