In the British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from auction, the work Farmyard with timber drag sold for GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,956.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Admittedly, works by John Thirtle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of John Sell Cotman, Mrs Edmund Miles And Ann Miles In The Miles Family Farmhouse, Felbrigg, Norfolk in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,365.28).
