Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Stezaker could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work He (Film Portrait Collage) II changed hands for GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,223.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Stezaker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kiss I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 28,750.00 (€ 33,347.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Stezaker konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit He (Film Portrait Collage) II für GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.223,41) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Stezaker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kiss I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.750,00 (€ 33.347,94).
